Traditions

I have a Christmas tradition that I love. Every year I create matching handmade Christmas Tree ornaments for each of my children.
When I left home, I had to go out and buy a bunch of Wal Mart junk to decorate my tree. You could almost feel the lack of sentimental value in those cheap ornaments.
I can't remember where I got the idea, but my children each have their own collection of made by Mom ornaments. Their first year away from home can bring warm memories with ornaments that were made by Mom's loving hands. Ornaments that are replicated on the trees of their siblings. Hopefully, it will alleviate some of the loneliness that we all felt in our first holiday 'out of the nest.'

That is such a thoughtful idea. I know they will appreciate it especially during that first year away from home. Mr. Snowman is awfully cute. :o)

What a wonderful tradition. It is so nice that your children will all have these special ornaments when they have a tree of their own. I bet they will continue the tradition you started.

what a fantastic idea. I have been buying hand-made Christmas ornaments whenever I go away just so that I would unique ornaments that would have nice memories too, but this idea of yours is so much nicer... and each child will know that their mom made it it just for them... lucky, lucky children
