Lazy Days??? Umm, I could use a few.

I've heard of this happening to people, but it's the first time it's happened to me.
I got a nice long post written with 4 or 5 pictures showing what all I've been up to for the last month that I've been absent from blogland, I pushed "Publish", and the whole thing disappeared!
So, I'm only going to have the time to redo a bit of it at a time.
Here's one of my accomplishments:
We went out to pick blueberries from an organic blueberry farm. It was a lot of fun, and the children particularly enjoyed gorging themselves on blueberries while we picked.

We also went picked wild blackberries. The picking was fun then as well, but blackberries are full of thorns, so we were covered with scratches and pricks when we got home. Then, 2 days later, three of us broke out with poison ivy! The blackberries were free, but feel like we paid for them with our discomfort!
Here's my pyramid of gleaming blueberry and blackberry jam. It's SO yummy, and worth all of the pain to have it!

My daughter and I also did some peach canning. Somehow seing rows of canned produce gives me such a fulfilling feeling. Hubby is convinced that I was born a century too late, and I'm sure he's right.

I've also been working in the garden, which was great for about a month there, but the lower half of the garden all died a couple of weeks ago, and I have no idea what caused it, so I'm pretty disappointed in that whole event.
I've also been busy, busy raising my most valuable "crop": my beautiful children. I can get so busy doing the things I enjoy, and I have to remember that everything I do will return to dust one day, except for the souls and characters that I'm molding in my children!

I love your commet about your children's souls. I have to remind myself of that same thing all the time. The most important requirement of a parent is to get their children's souls to heaven.

Wow girl! Great job on those preserves! They are absolutely gorgeous...

A century too late! That made me laugh...just like me, too.

    Happy Summer!

Ugh - losing all your pictures like that is a bummer. That's why I left blogger - yuck!

Sounds like you've had a wonderful time with your kids - I know my boys would have loved picking blueberries. I've often thought I was born a century too late as well - always wanting to make my own stuff instead of buy it, but then I think about the air conditioning and I think I was born at just the right time. :o)
