HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!

I was raised in a military family, and consequently I take the patriotic holidays pretty seriously. I feel so blessed to live in a country where we are free. I remember the sacrifices that it took to provide that freedom that we often take for granted today. God Bless America...Land that I LOVE.

The table runner pictured above was just completed today. I started it several years ago, but didn't complete it in time for the 4th. For the last several years, I've remembered it on the 4th, and say "Oh well, I'll get it made in time for next year."
Well, finally, I remembered it in time to complete it for the celebration. I love it!

Lovely runner, Wendi! Perfect accessory for the fourth! By the way, the last couple of hours are dwindling away to get your address for the dishtowel swap... send it on over to thehelpfulhousewife@hotmail.com so I can get you partnered up!!!! :)

That turned out really nicely! I have yet to try stars (isn't that what that pattern is called?), but maybe one day I'll get the guts up. :o)
